Caroline Houdek Solomon was born in and has lived in Minnesota throughout her career. She graduated with a BFA in photography from the College of Visual Arts, St. Paul in 2001 (the college closed in 2013) and completed her MFA in photography at the University of Minnesota in 2008. She teaches photography at several institutions in the Twin Cities, MN, and is the Digital Service Bureau Lead Supervisor at the University of Minnesota. Caroline’s work has been shown locally in Minneapolis/St. Paul and nationally across the US.

As a true photo geek she has painted a wall in her house 18% gray and although she does some work with digital capture she prefers using medium and large format film for her the bulk of her personal work.

Currently she lives in Minneapolis close to her family with her cats and cameras.
